Getting Started

Introduction

Guides, API references, and tutorials to help you get the most out of Sentinel.

Welcome to the Sentinel documentation. This guide will help you get started with our monitoring platform and make the most of its features.

Sentinel covers the full surface area of website and infrastructure monitoring — uptime, SSL certificate health, DNS records, domain expiry, page keyword content, and JSON API response assertions, plus ICMP ping and TCP port reachability for hosts that don't speak HTTP, and push-based heartbeat and cron-job checks for background workers that need to call out on their own.

Around those checks are the supporting features you'd expect: real-time alerts to email, SMS, Slack and webhooks; public and password-protected status pages; on-demand and scheduled uptime reports (white-label optional on the Business plan); incident management with multi-region consensus to silence regional blips; and team workspaces with role-based access.
