HTTP 4xx
408 Request Timeout
The server timed out waiting for the client to finish the request.
What causes it
- A slow or interrupted client connection.
How to fix it
Usually transient. Persistent 408s can indicate network problems between the client and server.
Example response
A typical raw HTTP response a client receives for a 408, with the headers this code is defined around.
